Refrigerator water dispenser not working in San Jose, CA

Issue description:

The following reasons, which occur when the refrigerator (dispenser) of the refrigerator does not work, are listed from most probable to least probable. Check or test each cause, starting with the most probable cause:

The water tube in the door freezes.

Water inlet valve

Water inlet valve opens to supply water to the dispenser.

Low water pressure in the house

Water Chiller Control Board

Water Chiller Switch

Water Filter

Door Switch

Refrigerator water dispenser not working

Problem solution:

To determine if the water pipe is freezing, disconnect the pipe at the bottom of the door and blow through it. If air does not pass, this means that the water supply tube is freezing and must be defrosted. Also, make sure the freezer is operating at the correct temperature. If the freezer is too cold, the water pipe of the water cooler may freeze.

If the water supply valve is faulty or the water pressure is too low, the water valve will not open. Make sure there is sufficient water pressure on the valve. If the water pressure is sufficient, use a multimeter to check the water inlet valve for continuity. If the water supply valve is not continuous, replace it.

There may be insufficient water pressure in the house. The water supply valve supplies water to the water dispenser and operates at a minimum pressure of 1.4 bar. Check the water flow and check the pressure to determine if it is at the required minimum value.

The water chiller control board controls most of the system's functions. If the control board is defective, it can de-energize the entire chiller system. If only one part of the cooler does not work, then check all components of the proportioner before checking the control board. Most likely one of the components has broken. If the entire chiller system is not working, the control panel is most likely to blame.

Chiller switch energizes the water chiller. If one of the chiller switches is faulty, then the water chiller will not work. To determine if a switch is faulty, use a multimeter to test each switch for continuity. If the chiller switch is not continuous, replace it.

A clogged water filter can restrict water flow to the chiller dispenser and prevent it from functioning properly. The water filter should be changed every six months to maintain proper water flow and ensure water quality.

A door switch shuts off the ice and water dispenser when the refrigerator door is open. If the door switch does not work, the water chiller will not turn on. To determine if the door switch is faulty, use a multimeter to test it for continuity. If the door switch is not continuous when you turn it on, replace it.
